The European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg begins

Today marks the start of the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg!

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will deliver the annual State of the Union address – a tradition that began in 2010, which strengthens the Commission’s accountability to Parliament and brings the EU’s priorities closer to citizens.

The President of Moldova will also be a special guest at the session.

In addition, we will vote, among other things, on the mid-term budget review and an assessment of the Commission’s priorities; since December 2024, the Commission has already announced approximately 250 initiatives – half of which concern prosperity and competitiveness.

It promises to be an intense and inspiring week for Europe.
