At the European Parliament, we commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II – one of the most tragic chapters in the history of Europe and the world.
Remembering the victims of this war – the millions of lives lost in the name of hatred, ideology, and aggression – is our shared responsibility. Only by remembering the past can we build a future based on peace, solidarity, and respect for the dignity of every human being.
