Equal Pay Day reminds us that, despite progress, we have not yet achieved full equality between women and men in the labor market.
Equal work deserves equal pay.
This is not only a matter of justice, but also the foundation of a strong, modern, and competitive economy.
In the European Parliament, we support efforts to:
• implement the Pay Transparency Directive,
• break through the so-called glass ceiling,
• achieve a work-life balance.
Europe should be a place where everyone – regardless of gender – has equal opportunities and receives fair pay.
