We welcomed Ms. Marzena Okła-Drewnowicz, Minister for Senior Citizens’ Policy, to Opole. Her visit was a unique opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities involved in supporting senior citizens.
During the meeting, I presented the Minister with a letter in which I expressed my appreciation for her work to this point in the area of senior policy. In the letter, I also emphasized the importance of EU funds, such as the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), which can support projects that engage seniors, promote their social integration, and improve the quality of life for older adults.
I also pointed out how important it is to take the needs of seniors into account when developing new EU programs after 2027. An aging society is a challenge that requires joint and well-coordinated action—both at the national and European levels.
I believe that cooperation with the Ministry of Senior Citizens’ Policy will lead to further initiatives that will tangibly improve the lives of our senior citizens. Thanks to EU funds, we have the opportunity to respond even better to the needs of this demographic and build a society that is more welcoming to older generations.
