I sincerely thank everyone for their contribution to the debate and for the good cooperation across all political groups. I am glad we were able to hold this debate just weeks after the traumatic events that affected many European regions.
In today’s world, where everything moves so fast, every piece of news is practically outdated by the next day. It often seems as though yesterday’s problem no longer exists. No, ladies and gentlemen, the victims of floods and fires are still, very often, in a tragic situation. Many families have no roof over their heads as winter approaches.
That is why this debate, and tomorrow’s vote, carry particular significance. First, to show that we have not forgotten those affected, and second, to confirm that we have delivered on our promise of help, doing so reliably and as quickly as possible.
